Until January 13, 2019, the Camille Claudel Museum presents its first temporary exhibition since its reopening, entitled "Camille Claudel, Paul Claudel: the dream and the life". Organized on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Paul Claudel's birth, she approaches the artistic dialogue between the writer and his sister. Located in the center History of the city of the dragon, it is installed since 1888 in the former summer palace of Monseigneur du Bellay, bishop of Fréjus from 1739 to 1766. Its rich collections, constituted in a didactic and universalist perspective1, relate as well to the regional archeology and the history of the city only on the fine arts and decorative arts, of which the six halls contain remarkable works. Major renovations of the roofs and the exhibition halls took place during the Thirty Glorious, the renovated museum welcoming the visitors again in 1977. Then come various arrangements concerning the reserves, reception and offices, as well as the creation of a temporary exhibition hall. Finally, the law of 4 January 2002 relating to the Museum of France allows to assign to the city of Draguignan all the deposits of the State prior to October 7, 1910. Having not benefited from renovation since the 1970s, the museum dilapidated and unattractive will engage, thanks to the will and ambition of the new municipality and the mayor, Mr. Richard Strambio (former assistant responsible for culture and cultural heritage under the previous municipality), a construction site collections and a major redevelopment, modernization and expansion plan. The works begin in the summer of 2017 and should be completed by the end of 2019. They are part of a larger policy of revaluing the city's cultural heritage and promoting tourism3.
