Masters chaise by Philippe Starck
@ Kartell
The Masters chair is a powerful tribute to the three chair-symbol, re-read and re-interpreted by the creative genius of Starck. The Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen, the Tulip Armchair by Eero Saarinen and the Eiffel Chair by Charles Eames interweave their unmistakable silhouettes into a sinuous hybrid giving life to a fusion of original and engaging styles.

The result of the genius of Philippe Starck, La Marie of Kartell was born in 1998 from the re-elaboration of an archetype. The polycarbonate chair is essentially a traditional chair: it is solid, basic, essential but thanks to transparency it becomes a milestone in the history of design. And it is practical, because among other things up to seven elements can be stacked. La Marie is the first transparent chair in the world, made in a single mold, thanks to a technique that leads to a result never seen before. It is part of Starck's mission: to make life better for as many people as possible. Inventor, creator, architect, designer, Philippe Starck is an undisputed star who has dominated the global design scene for 4 decades.

Thousands projects, completed or in progress, endless prizes and awards collected in a long and successful career. Poetic, subversive, ethical, ecological: this defines his work, which ranges from design hotels in Miami, London, New York and Tokyo to industrial products for Alessi, Flos, Kartell, Cassina. His ambition? Approach the general public to design. Also for this reason he designs everything possible: from Panzani pasta to Puma footwear; from the Aprilia bike to the Fossil watches to the Baccarat crystal glasses. Marie inaugurates the series of transparent chairs by Kartell designed by Philippe Starck. The idea is to use a pure volume, which is however let through light. These transparent chairs do not want and do not represent a visual obstacle in the environment, leaving the seating function unchanged at the same time. The realization of polycarbonate chairs in a single mold proves once again how an innovative technology combined with quality design can create a success story. A careful and focused design, which makes the transparent chair by Philippe Starck a discreet yet memorable presence. The result is the result of meticulous research into the material that led to the brilliant combination of lightness and strength.

Philippe Starck's transparent chair for Kartell bases its evocative power in simple shapes. Intangible in appearance, it is absolutely versatile and practical in use: indoors or outdoors, in domestic environments as well as in public spaces. In addition to the crystal version it is available in four soft colors.
