Working in collaboration with the photographer Leo García Méndez, the Spanish artist Raya Sader Bujana has created this fantastic series of figures of Olympic athletes using layers of paper. "Each figure is cut from a maximum of 150 sheets of paper joined by hundreds of tiny 3 mm separators to create the delicate overlap effect". To launch the new collection of objects for the desk, the DOIY Design studio asked the artist Raya Sader Bujana and the photographer Leo García Mendez, both Venezuelans, an architectural interpretation of miniature pieces. The three concrete stairs, pen holders, adhesive tape dispensers, bookends and pen holders respectively, have become elements for miniature sets inspired by the works of Mexican architects Luis Barragán and Ricardo Legorreta. Around the pieces of the Scala series some paper elements have been built that reconstruct a game of perspectives, colors and light of great suggestion.
