Project Dial is an interactive experiment by Thibault Magni, focused on creating a link between the deaf community and the rest of the population. “With an awareness-raising approach, the goal is not to introduce people to sign language but make them feel the articulation and issues of it. The project is an interactive installation reacting in real time to the user’s hands, allowing the writing of a sound and light sentence through its movements.”



Thibault Magni is a Canadian designer that in May 2017 presented his thesis, Project Dial – deafness inspired interaction, at UQAM, Université du Québec à Montréal.Project Dial is a design research project focusing on accessibility and communication matters. “As indicated by his name, it is a project, which will find a different resonance for each person. Coding part is not fully operational but constitutes a functional basis…With an awareness-raising approach, the goal is not to introduce people to sign language but make them feel the articulation and issues of it.
